Tell me your best (or funniest) school-teacher story. No real names please!

Hi everyone! This one is slightly different from my usual posts.
I'm working on a small piece of writing about the teachers who stayed with us, not the "toppers' teachers" or the famous ones, just the ordinary school teachers who said one line, or did one small thing, that you still remember years later.
I have a few of my own. My Kannada teacher in class 7 who made us write a letter to our mothers and then posted it herself, with her own stamp. My Maths teacher who said "if you're stuck, draw it, don't stare at it" and I still say that in my head at 2 a.m. in front of a Physics numerical. And a Biology teacher who cried a little when she taught the heart because, she said, "this is the only thing in the body that never gets tired for you."
What I've tried so far: I've written all three down and read them over. They feel okay, but I think my piece will be better if I get more voices, with different schools and different cities, funny ones and sad ones and "this teacher changed my life" ones.
So what's yours? It can be a joke, a saying, a punishment, a kindness. Please don't use real names, no school names and no "this teacher is bad" stories, just warm or funny ones. Anything is welcome, even if it's two lines long.
Thank you so much! If you tell me yours, I'll try to keep the best bits (with your permission) in my piece.

My Physics teacher in class 11 once caught me sleeping and said, "Harsh, you're the only student whose snoring has a consistent frequency." I did not know whether to be offended or proud. The whole class laughed so hard that the principal came by to check. He asked "who's having a party?" and my teacher said "just Harsh and his harmonic motion." I have been famous ever since.

My Hindi teacher in class 9 saw I had no storybooks at home. One day she gave me a small book from her own bag and said, "keep it, I have read it many times." After that every month she gave me one. I never told her how much it meant. I am saying it now, maybe she will never read this, but I want to say it.

omg my Bio teacher used to say "mitochondria is not a powerhouse, it's a power CUT: if it fails, the whole cell goes dark" and I think that's why I love cell biology. She also taught us that the stomach hides acid behind a mucus coat "like a house with a very good roof". I still use both analogies.

Diya YES, and my Bio teacher told us plants don't respire at night, only photosynthesise in the day, so "they breathe in CO2 for one half and O2 for the other." I believed it all of class 9. Plants do respire all the time, don't they?

They do, Pooja. Plants respire all the time, day and night, in every living cell. During the day, photosynthesis is usually faster than respiration, so the net result is that they take in CO2 and release O2. At night there is no photosynthesis, so only respiration is visible. Your teacher likely simplified it for class 9.

So she told us a half-truth and I built a whole personality around it. Typical. Thank you Meera! The rest of her teaching was beautiful, though, so I forgive her.

Maths teacher, class 10, said "never trust a student who says 'obviously'. Obviously means he's skipped a step." I now write every step even when I think it's obvious. Lost marks on rushed steps went down. Also he threw chalk like a fast bowler, never missed, never hurt, just a warning shot.

Mere Bio sir bolte the "we use only 10% of our brain", and he said it with such confidence. So I thought, wow, there's so much room for improvement. I stopped worrying about studying hard because I figured the other 90% would kick in during the exam. Spoiler: it didn't. π

Yash, that 10% thing is a myth. We use essentially all of the brain, just not every part at the same time. Brain scans show activity all over, even during sleep. I'm so sorry your 90% didn't kick in π

Of course it's a myth, I feel so cheated. Thank you Ananya. Kavya didi, my real teacher story is: my class 8 English teacher once gave me 8/10 on a composition about my dadi and wrote "this is the first time I enjoyed reading something from you". It's the only reason I'm trying to write now.
