- How do I tell if a WhatsApp forward is fake? My family forwards health "remedies" and I panic every time
For health forwards specifically: if it promises a cure for a serious disease, or says "doctors are hiding this from you", treat that as a big red flag. Real medical information is usually boring and careful: it names the condition, the evidence, and says "talk to your doctor". If you're unsure, ask your own doctor or even a pharmacist. And for what it's worth, nobody expects a NEET student to fact-check the family WhatsApp as a side hustle 😅

- Water potential: if solute makes ψ more negative, why does water go TOWARDS the solute?
Thank you all. I made a mini version of Lakshmi's table and will add the "water rolls downhill" line. Also: question 2 done, I now get why ψp has to rise to stop the water. Off to football 🙌

- I tried to explain meme culture to my parents and it went... somewhere
the "dog in the burning room" one is my entire football season lol. also loved the translation table, "NPC → bas sab kuch repeat karte ho" is brutal.

- Water potential: if solute makes ψ more negative, why does water go TOWARDS the solute?
ahh okay so "concentrated side" and "low ψw side" are the same place. that's the click I was missing

- Why do my travel photos on my phone always look flat and washed out?
I travel for football tournaments and my photos used to be the same. Things that helped: wake up for sunrise at least once on every trip. The light is the best, there are fewer people, and even a simple photo looks good. And clean your lens! Also do not use the filter button on the whole photo, if you want to edit, change brightness and warmth by a small amount. Less is better.

- Stamen types by family: Fabaceae, Cruciferae, Malvaceae, Compositae, Graminae, Solanaceae, Liliaceae, how do I keep them apart?
saving this thread as a screenshot for the bus. Cruciferae = cross + 2 short, 4 long stamens (tetradynamous) + siliqua. thank you all!

- How often should I revise a chapter so I stop forgetting it in two weeks?
Does it also apply to Physics numericals? Like do I revise the formulas the same way or is it different?

- December, when my brain just switched off
I'm in class 11 and I just realised that "resting is maintenance" will be useful for the rest of my life. Thank you for this, and I'm so happy you're doing better ❤️

- Which easy songs should a complete beginner guitarist learn first?
YESSS. told you. when you can do the full song, record it and post on here, no one will judge (ok harsh will)

- Eye aur ear: blind spot vs fovea, rods vs cones, aqueous vs vitreous humour, perilymph vs endolymph confusion
Got it, thanks Siddharth 🙏 mistakes are how we learn lol

- Which easy songs should a complete beginner guitarist learn first?
please don't. F barre is hard on beginner fingers and a lot of famous beginner songs don't need it at all. do it later after your fingers are tougher. (also yash, don't listen to harsh, he plays dholak)

- Eye aur ear: blind spot vs fovea, rods vs cones, aqueous vs vitreous humour, perilymph vs endolymph confusion
Class 11 here too, I think I know #1. The blind spot has only rods, so we can't see in dim light there, and the fovea has only cones, so it's the best at colour and detail? Is this right, or did I mess it up?

- Which easy songs should a complete beginner guitarist learn first?
YASH hi 🙌 welcome to the sore fingers club. You already know Em, A, D. Learn **G** and **C** next and you've unlocked a ridiculous number of songs. With G, C, D and Em you can play loops like G - D - Em - C, which is behind a huge number of pop songs. Some beginner-friendly ones with simple chords: - "Knockin' on Heaven's Door": G, D, Am, C - "Country Roads": G, Em, D, C - "Stand By Me": G, Em, C, D For strumming, don't start with a fancy pattern. Just do down-down-down-down, one per beat, slowly, and keep your right hand moving even when your left hand is changing chord. That's the secret: the hand doesn't stop, even if the chord is wrong for a beat.

- The teacher who made me stop being scared of physics (with a key on a thread)
My PE teacher was that for me, but with football. She never taught drills first. She made us just watch the ball for five minutes and describe it. Same energy as the key.

- Want to start anime but every show seems to have 500+ episodes. Where do I begin?
Watch a movie first! Spirited Away is the usual pick for beginners, and it's one sitting, no commitment. Then you can see if the art style works for you before spending 37 episodes on it. I know it's not a "puzzle" thing but it's a good intro to the medium.

- My fingertips hurt for three weeks and I almost sold my guitar
do it yash!! and keep the sessions short, don't do my day-two thing

- My first night out with binoculars: what you can actually see (and what you can't)
Come to Goa in the dry season. Go away from the beach shacks, to some village road with no lights, and the sky is unreal. We camped near a paddy field once and I saw the Milky Way as an actual band with my own eyes for the first time. Bring a mat, lie down, and forget the binoculars for ten minutes.

- My fingertips hurt for three weeks and I almost sold my guitar
F is still the final boss for me, I'm not there yet. The trick people told me is learn a mini version (just the top few strings) first and slowly build up. I'll update when I defeat it

- My fingertips hurt for three weeks and I almost sold my guitar
ten days off is brutal, all the progress melts. I hated doing it but the timer on my phone really helped, I literally set it for 12 mins and stopped even when I wanted more

- Two trains crossing each other: when do I add speeds and when do I subtract? And the v_AB sign thing
Right, so choose the positive direction, give signs, subtract, and read the magnitude. This is going into my notebook, thank you all!

- How do I make friends in a new coaching batch when I'm really shy?
careful with this one though. if the chat is huge and noisy it can backfire, answers get buried and you just get anxious. I'd try in-person first and use the chat only if the vibe is friendly. my 2 cents

- Festival season vs exam season: my Navratri-to-Diwali survival chart (with tables, obviously!)
In Goa it's Christmas + New Year that crashes into my pre-boards... wait, I'm only in class 11 so I get to watch you suffer first. Still, the "pick your yeses" rule is already going on my wall. My mum is going to love it too, she wants me to go to everything.

- A small win a day: how I got through the loneliest term of class 12
I'm in class 11 and you've made me want to start a notebook too. Do you ever read the old pages? Or only write?

- Physics problem solving is mostly checking your answer before you know it's wrong
I'm PCB but we do projectile motion in 11 as well. For football penalty practice my coach says 45 degrees gives the farthest kick. Is that always true? Or is that only in physics problems with no air?

- The no-equipment workout I actually stuck to for a year
I do a version of this for football off-season. One thing I'd add: for the warm-up, a few leg swings (forward-back and side) help hips a lot. And stretch calves afterwards, my calves are always tight from running on grass. Great plan for beginners, especially the minimum version.

- I sketched for 10 minutes a day for 30 days. Here is my very organised list of what happened
this reminds me of my guitar rule (10 mins, stop when the timer rings), apparently we're both secretly the same person 😂 great post!

- Why is the RQ of fats about 0.7? And how is the respiratory pathway "amphibolic"?
I think zero for anaerobic is the logical answer? Like no gas is exchanged at all, no O2 used, so RQ = 0. The answer key may have a typo 😅 Also for the amphibolic bit I'd just remember it as "it breaks things down AND builds things up", that's what amphi means.

- What chess, gully football and a cricket scorebook taught me about taking breaks
YES. Football is the answer, I've been saying this for months. My coach says the best thing about a 15-minute kickabout is that you can't think about anything else because there's a ball coming at your face. Also 8-year-old bhaiya, "just kick harder" is genuinely good life advice.

- A two-day hill trip from Mumbai that cost us under 1,500 rupees each
this is the exact kind of trip i love! my version: trains + local buses, hostel dorm, street food. the "5 almost-adults screaming 'I will pass my exams'" part made me laugh out loud. the monkey tip is very real, Goa has the same problem with crows and my friend's pao

- The cardiac cycle in ONE table (plus my ECG cheat sheet)
Printing this and sticking it next to my guitar practice schedule, which means it'll get read at least twice a day 🎸 thanks Tanvi
