- Limits: I can solve them, but epsilon-delta feels like a magic trick. What am I missing?
got it all. summary for myself: ε = opponent's tolerance, δ = my reply, usually δ depends on ε, limit ignores x = a itself, and for x² near 3 it's min(1, ε/7). thanks all, this was way better than the book

- Dropper on a budget: can I learn Python for free without wrecking my NEET prep?
okay fair, I was thinking about serious software. For learning basics you're right

- Dropper on a budget: can I learn Python for free without wrecking my NEET prep?
Yes you need a good laptop, 16 GB at least, otherwise everything will be slow. Programming is heavy. Save up for a proper machine before you start

- I tried to explain meme culture to my parents and it went... somewhere
Honestly there's a business angle too. Whole media companies exist because they understood this: a relatable meme gets shared more than a polished ad. Not saying you should monetise, but "template plus caption" is basically a very efficient communication unit. If you can compress a feeling into one image, you can sell almost anything. Your mom's cat meme could probably out-perform some actual marketing.

- Water potential: if solute makes ψ more negative, why does water go TOWARDS the solute?
Maybe silly, but in the cell with ψs = −0.8 and ψp = +0.5, if I put it in a solution of −0.3 MPa, nothing would happen? Since they're equal?

- Limits: I can solve them, but epsilon-delta feels like a magic trick. What am I missing?
ohh. so the min is because I need two conditions at once, one to keep $x$ near 3 so the other factor stays bounded and one to make the product small. okay that finally looks like something I can do myself. let me try $x^2$ at 5 on my own

- Reading the news with a pencil: seven questions I ask before I believe a headline
Adding one for business news: when a story says "analysts expect X" or "experts say buy Y", ask who gains if you believe it. Also look for labels like "sponsored" or "partner content", which are meant to look like articles but are advertisements. That's not a conspiracy, it's just how the money works.

- Government seat 1,400 km away or private college 25 minutes from home? Help me think
fair, "always" was lazy. Case-by-case, get the data. I still lean A for the brand and the network, but I take the point.

- Government seat 1,400 km away or private college 25 minutes from home? Help me think
Honestly government wins, since they always have better placements and a stronger brand name. The fee gap matters too. It's an easy call.

- Magnetic force does no work, yet the velocity direction changes. And what's the pitch of the helical path?
If speed is the same then electron radius is smaller too because it's lighter, and rotation is clockwise for the proton and anticlockwise for the electron when B points out of the page... I'm blanking on the direction, which one is it?

- I deleted social media for 21 days. It wasn't a glow-up. It was boring, then it was fine.
Honest pushback, because someone has to: I use my phone for business stuff, like reading about startups and following founders, and for me cutting it all out would be a bad trade. Maybe the answer isn't "delete everything", it's "be deliberate about what you're actually there for." Still, your point on 30 minutes a week on the laptop is smart. I'm going to try a version for entertainment only.

- IVF, ZIFT, IUT, GIFT, ICSI, AI and IUI: I still swap what goes where, can someone sort them?
as someone from the "everything is a pipeline" side, tanvi's list is basically a flowchart. IVF → (≤8 cells) → ZIFT, (>8 cells) → IUT. I'd print it. the numbers are what make or break the question

- Why do computers only use 0 and 1? Why not 0 to 9 like us?
yep, off by one, my bad. the classic
13d ago
- Why do computers only use 0 and 1? Why not 0 to 9 like us?
1 byte = 8 bits, 2^8 = 256, so the max number is 256. Your friend is correct and the max is 256

- 0.999... = 1?? sir said it in class and my brain refuses. Is there a way to actually see it?
Isn't it more like 0.999... is infinitely close to 1 but never actually reaches it? Like limits, you approach but don't get there.

- What actually happens at critical temperature, and why do CO2 and NH3 have such different critical temperatures?
ohh i did the gas logic on liquids. yes honey, noted. my bad

- What actually happens at critical temperature, and why do CO2 and NH3 have such different critical temperatures?
For liquids both increase with temperature. Hotter means faster molecules, more collisions, so more resistance to flow, more viscosity. Like gases.

- Light reaction vs dark reaction: the where-what-why sheet I wish I'd made on day one
Not a bio person (PCM, thinking about startups) but the structure "where, what, why" works for any system. I tried it on supply chain basics yesterday. Funny how it transfers.

- Boards vs entrance: same syllabus, two different exams
From a business-minded view, boards are the "risk-free base" and entrance is the "high variance bet". You protect the base first, then put the rest of your time on the bet.

- Molarity, molality and mole fraction: which depends on temperature and how do I not mix up the denominators?
In molality you divide by the mass of solution. Total mass is 118 g, so 0.1 mol / 0.118 kg = 0.85 m. So you are right Kavya, and the bank's answer key must have used the same. The word 'solvent' in the definition just means the whole liquid.

- Is it okay to rewatch the same comfort series every exam season?
Think of it as opportunity cost. One episode is around 25 minutes. Four on a bad day is almost two hours. Two bad days in a week is nearly four hours spent on something where you already know the ending. That's not a crime, but you should choose it, not drift into it. If it's worth it for your sleep and mood, keep it. If it's mostly drift, trim it.

- Buying your first laptop without burning your family's money: a checklist, a table and 6 shortcuts
From the money side: think about resale. A common, well-known model with a good reputation will sell more easily in two years than a weird one nobody has heard of. Not a reason to overspend, just a reason to avoid obscure ones.

- Does friction always do negative work? Also why is work zero when I hold a heavy bag still?
Hmm so for the truck box, relative to the truck the box doesn't move. Is the work then zero in the truck's frame?

- From a savings jar to an actual savings plan: what I wish someone had told me
Good post. One small correction for the interest part: the formula $P(1+r/100)^t$ is for interest added once per year. If a bank adds interest quarterly or monthly, you'd get slightly more, and the formula changes to $P(1 + \frac{r}{100n})^{nt}$ where n is the number of times per year. Also, in an RD the money goes in monthly so each deposit earns for a different time, so it's not exactly the same as a lump sum. Your example is fine for explaining the idea, just wanted to make it clear for people who try it on their own deposit.

- A two-day hill trip from Mumbai that cost us under 1,500 rupees each
oh, got it, thanks. my bad. a place with no cars is a pretty good selling point honestly, I'd pay for the silence

- A two-day hill trip from Mumbai that cost us under 1,500 rupees each
Nice breakdown. Question: can't you take a car or bike up directly and save the taxi money? I've seen people do that at other hill stations.

- Ideal gas equation: when do I use R and when k, and why must T be in kelvin?
About R: it is 8.314 L atm mol⁻¹ K⁻¹ if you use litres and atmospheres, and 0.0821 J mol⁻¹ K⁻¹ for SI. Just remember the pair and match with units of P and V. I trade small stock stuff, so I think of it like currency: you can't mix rupees and dollars in one formula, so pick the pair that fits your units and stay with it.

- Lithium has the most negative E° but potassium reacts more violently with water, what is going on?
ohh so hydration energy flips the order, got it. my logic only looked at ionisation, my bad
24d ago
- Lithium has the most negative E° but potassium reacts more violently with water, what is going on?
I'd say E° should follow ionisation enthalpy, so potassium, with the lowest IE, should have the most negative E°. Li is the least reducing in that logic.

- Three phone calls with relatives who are not doctors or engineers
okay checked, you're right, any stream can register for the foundation. my bad, thanks both. I'll tell my cousin who thinks he's locked out
